CANADIAN INSTITUTES OF HEALTH RESEARCH - $93 380 for the next three years for research into Chari and syringomyelia. Identification of the gene(s) predisposing to Chiari Malformation I using the Griffon Bruxellois dog model.

Ruperts Fund -  Have succesfully raised £11,616 ($18,566), to fund scans for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels aged 6+ for critical research into syringomyelia. Scans funded 50, CKCS scanned 31. Now seeking male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs over 5 years of age for a free MRI scan.
The UK Griffon Bruxellois Club - a generous donation to CMSM DNA genome research was made by the club with the money being ring fenced for Griffon Bruxellois. £3000 per year for the next three years.

CMSM MRI SCREENING CENTRES - Veterinary MRI Centres currently offering or interested in (reduced cost) scanning. Breeders are advised to establish if the MRI centre is using the suggested protocol for the proposed BVA/KC scheme.

CM - in puppies and children - Chiari like malformation in dogs - non invasive screening tests. A research project underway in the USA to develop non-invasive methods for accurately screening for CM in dogs. Successful screening tests may be applied in large scale screening of children and result in early detection and treatment for those with Chiari malformation.
