Lola has inspired me to raise awareness of the neurological condition Syringomyelia (SM). To unite together all dogs from all breeds and their owners and family’s who have been touched by this condition. To share our dogs stories. To welcome all dog lovers who are interested in our breeds and to offer a voice to express what our dogs mean to us.

Lola’s best pal Mia has SM. You would not think she has, she shows no symptoms (asymptomatic) but she does and she carries the genes that could be inherited by her progeny. SM is a progressive disease, so Lola’s friend Mia may develop symptoms as she matures. Others like Molly and Teddy have suffered from a young age with the painful symptoms of SM.

Lola is crucial in the hunt for the DNA genes that could lead to a test that may detect the condition Syringomyelia (SM). We need more friends to join Lola in donating their DNA for this vital genome project. Lola and her friends are important in helping to find a solution in reducing the incidence of inherited Syringomyelia.
